What kid doesn’t want to fly an airplane, let alone a fighter jet? Selfridge has 3 simulators (non-functional) that you can sit in and dream. Also they have cutaway jet engines, a Merlin engine, a Warthog Gatling gun and other large machine guns.
In the compound outside there are about 30 airplanes, some of which you can enter.
In the repair shop they have a Sherman tank and Corsair WWII airplane that is being restored.
This will be a fun adventure.
To enter the Air Base each of you will need a driver’s license. There will be a sign-up sheet at the May meeting that will expedite your entry onto the base.
The museum opens at 11am if you want an early start.
